The Colostomy Bag: Peter Bjorn and John

Oh my god.  I've heard a few songs from the new Peter Bjorn and John album and it gave me irritable bowel.
Sounds like really bad 80's.  Absolutely intolerable.  Dear god guys, what happened?

The Nurse's Station: Cymbals Eat Guitars - Why There Are Mountains

Modest Mouse and Pavement must have fornicated and produced this beautiful offspring.  Cymbals Eat Guitars are my new favorite band.  I was at first deterred by the album cover - it's horrible, but I'll let it go.  So far 2009, you have been awesome for music!  Keep it up.

The Colostomy Bag- Wayne Coyne

Oh Wayne Coyne, you have broken my heart.  A few years ago, I didn't mind that he openly bashed Beck (because he's a filthy Scientologist).  I was okay with that.  I appreciated that Wayne was so open and didn't give a fuck about anything.  That's what made him so cool.
But now, he's taken it too far.  After reading his interview with Rolling Stone and the comments he made about Arcade Fire, it just seemed so unjustified.  He called them pompous and just went off about my precious Canadian band.
I wondered for a moment if maybe he was right and that Arcade Fire was a bunch of pompous douchebags, but after Win Butler responded to Wayne's bashing, the result was pretty clear -Wayne is the asshole in this situation.  Butler definitely came off looking better.  He even threw some subtle, mocking humor in there.  It was quite clever (Yes, we Canadians are so witty!)
For both stories, check out the links and decide for yourself.  But for me, Wayne, you have let me down.

The Colostomy Bag: Leona Lewis and Alicia Keys - Die!

Two of the worst music videos of all time have been brought to my attention recently.

Leona Lewis - I Will Be

The interaction at the beginning that she has with Chace Crawford actually makes no sense.  I don't care how pretty he is, that's just poor writing.

Alicia Keys - Teenage Love Affair.

Gay.

Last episode of CW's 90210

Was I the only one thinking who the fuck is Carolina Liar?  Was that the best band they could get?  Pathetic.

The Nurse's Station - The Pains of Being Pure at Heart (s/t)

Effin awesome, sounds like brit pop but they are from New York.  They are Ride and Morrissey's love child.  If one of their songs ends up on One Tree Hill I will kill myself.

Update: They haven't been on One Tree Hill but Urban Outfitters has picked them up.  Sigh.

My Pavement Fantasy

This article definitely tricked me and made me very excited for something that is not exactly happening, but it got me thinking: if this happened, and Pavement did a reunion tour this year/made an appearance at Coachella, my life would be complete.  I would rearrange all my exams just to go see it.  There would be no chance of me missing this.  Oh please, almighty music God, let my dreams come true!
